MBE Award For Services to Literature

I’ve been awarded an MBE for Services to Literature in the Queen’s birthday honours list. I’m still processing this. I’ve always felt like an outsider on the scene. Being Black and writing experimental literature has meant it’s been doubly hard for me to break through. I’m community orientated so elevating other voices is something I’ve naturally done quietly for years. This is an incredible thing to happen. A big thank you to everybody who supported me along the way.
